from a conversation

An invitation to develop an activity between Rio and London took place that would be realized in London in response to and during the exhibition of Ernesto Neto’s work at the Hayward Gallery. On August 25, at the Southbank Centre, the Hayward Huddle group, led by artist Daniel Wallis performed two exercises which I drew from a conversation I had with Ernesto Neto on July 20th 2010 about the influence of the city of Rio de Janeiro on his work. The first activity prompted the young people to intervene with  some materials with spaces outside the Hayward gallery and the other set up an installation with two monitors which the participants were asked to walk between and try to balance over a line
